I have always wanted my twist outs to last at least for 5 days, however, they last for just 3. If you are like me, you must have tried a couple of creams and custard that promise to make your twists and curls last for longer. The ones I tried in the past either made my hair flaky & dry & even provided no hold at all. A friend gifted me this Cantu product & I decided to try it. Here’s my Cantu Coconut Curling Cream review:
November is here! This could also mean harmattan is here. You may need to switch your natural hair products to meet your hair needs for this new month. Let’s check out some my natural hair November essentials:
1. Jamaican Mango & Lime Coconut Leave-in Conditioner: This product completes my wash day. My hair gets really soft as soon as I apply this product on it during my wash days. Because it is actually quite thick, I mix it with water in a spray bottle before applying it.
2. Tree of the Field Unrefined Coconut Oil: A lot of people swear by coconut oil, but I have not been so lucky as it makes my hair too hard when I use it as a moisturizer. But I discovered a better way to use coconut oil. It works perfectly for my hair when I pre-poo. Using coconut oil for pre-poo strengthens my hair against the harsh effects of my shampoo.
3. Cantu Coconut Curling Cream: One of my latest favorite natural hair products is this. My twists out have way more definition since I started using this curling product. It came as a gift and it has done a good job to my hair so far.
4.Olive Oil: This has been my go-to hair oil for a while now. I love the fact that it does not smell strong and it is not too heavy. During my wash day, this is the oil I use to seal in moisture into my hair. Lest I forget, it also does a great job at adding shine to my hair.
5.Ouchless Bands: Considering that I bought them for N300, they have been super useful to me. They do not snag my hair as other hair bands. This is because they do not have the adjoining metal that other bands have.

Hello! I can only guess that as you are reading this post, you already have a jar of Hair Wonder Treatment Cream in your house. I had lots of friends who advertised this product to me. I have seen in on the major online stores in Nigeria. I went to the popular & ever-crowded Eko Idumota market over the weekend and I saw at least 2 women hawking this product. I became so curious that I bought one for myself. So, let’s move on to the Hair Wonder Treatment Cream review.
Ingredients: One of the reasons lots of ladies on a natural journey have been flocking towards this product is because it claims to have only natural ingredients in it. It contains Shea butter, coconut oil, lemongrass, etc. See the remaining ingredients below:
Claims: They include hair growth, anti-dandruff, hair loss treatment, moisturizing, etc. See the rest below.
Price: I purchased mine for N500, but i had to pay a delivery fee of N200. Total came to N700.
Consistency: This product is neither too thick or too runny. It is somewhere in the middle. It reminds me of the consistency of the regular hair creams you find in the supermarkets. However, it melts & becomes a bit runny when the weather is really warm.
Smell: The smell is a bit hard to define. I could perceive lightly shea butter and a mix of most likely the other ingredients.
Does my hair love it? My hair has an open relationship with creams & butter generally. For the Hair Wonder Treatment Cream, I applied it very lightly on my scalp. For me, using too much of it makes my scalp sweaty & itchy.
Other uses: If I intend to use Hair Wonder Treatment Cream long term, I will most likely use it as a sealant during my wash days.

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2017. Today’s product is one of my favorite protein deep conditioners. I started using it at the beginning of my hair journey, and I have stuck with it since then. Anytime I noticed that my hair remained dull & lifeless no matter how often I deep conditioned, I quickly turn to my ApHogee Keratin treatment. As soon as I am done with it, my hair is restored to life. I use it every 6 weeks so that my hair does not become unnecessarily hard. Below is the Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor Review.

Ever heard of a magic hair drying cap? Well, I was on the Jumia website when I stumbled on the Magic hair Drying cap. I was really curious to find out what was exactly magical about this product. I was not just sold on the word `magical`, I was attracted by the fact that it is a microfiber towel and it does not excessively dry out the hair. It has been said that regular towels can excessively dry out your hair and even the friction can cause hair breakage.
Price: The price was N580. I paid a shipping cost of N200. That is a total of N780.
Instructions: These were provided on the back of the pack. They are quite easy to follow as well.
Does my hair love it? I wore the cap after rinsing out my leave in conditioner. I was surprised it covered the volume of my hair. It did not excessively dry out my hairl.
Concern: There were purple turfs coming out of the cap which stuck to my hair. I am not sure if this is normal with all microfiber fabrics.
Will I continue to use Magic Hair Drying Cap? I will most likely use it interchangeably with my cotton t-shirt.

In the past, I have used lots of shampoo from various brands. Some made my hair too dry, others had a funny smell I hated. I remember a particular brand that claimed to detangle hair, left my hair in a hot mess when used. When I decided to buy my next shampoo, I made sure I paid attention to the ingredients in it. Immediately I saw “no sulphate” on the bottle of ORS HAIRepair Invigorating Shampoo, I quickly grabbed it. It also contains mint & peppermint
Many products have the usual scientific jargon. Here’s how the ORS website describes the ingredients:
Peppermint: offers cleansing, moisturizing, and soothing benefits. Aloe Vera: rich in allantoin, vitamin A, vitamin E and essential fatty acids that support the regeneration and balance of moisture. Aloe Vera counteracts skin irritation and protects against environmental influences.
Price: I bought it for N1,000 last year. However, due to the current inflation, I bought it for N1,500 two months ago.
Consistency: This shampoo is quite thick. I usually mix a part of it with water in my spray bottle before using it. This way I do not use more than enough. #MoneySavingTip
Does my hair love it? Yes! Yes!! I like the tingling minty sensation in leaves on my scalp. After shampooing with this product, I usually look at my scalp in the mirror. It is always so clean. It also makes my hair easy to detangle. It lathers really well too.
Does it contain natural oils? Yes it does. It contains coconut oil, Olive fruit oil
How long does the product last? Due to the thickness and length of my hair,a bottle usually lasts about 3 months for me. Remember that I also wash my hair every two weeks
Will I continue to use ORS HAIRepair Invigorating Shampoo? Of course I will. It does not dry my hair out. It does a good job at cleansing too. Lest I forget, the smell is quite nice.
